RIVA Surgery Center is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.

Our standard

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

What we have done

This site was built with accessibility as a requirement rather than something added afterward:

  • Semantic page structure with landmarks and a skip-to-content link
  • One main heading per page, with headings in a logical order
  • Color combinations checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on interactive elements
  • Full keyboard operation, including the navigation menu
  • Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning
  • Text that reflows and stays readable when enlarged

Known limitations

We are still building this site ahead of our October 2026 opening. Some things are not finished:

  • Patient forms are not yet posted. When they are, they will be published as tagged, searchable PDFs.
  • Some pages are still being written and have not completed a full accessibility review.
  • We have not finished testing every combination of browser and screen reader.

We would rather tell you what is unfinished than claim the site is complete.

If any part of this website is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. We will help you get the information you need another way, and we will fix the problem.

Getting information another way

If you cannot access something on this site, call or email us and we will provide it in another format — large print, by phone, by email, or in person.
